I just bought one and it’s significantly worse than my iPod, but it gets the job done and I don’t have to worry about it. I’m picking and choosing workouts from this: http://rw.runnersworld.com/rt/pdf/Nine_Week_Recovery_Plan.pdf running plan. I don’t do 5 days a week, but having some sort of structure helps.

You pretty much replace the time you spent running with time in the pool, and you can replicate speed workouts too, replacing a certain pace (for example, 400m @ 7:00 pace) with the equivalent effort (1:45 @ 7:00 effort).
